I awoke to the rain, and to muscle soreness as I had overdone the work on the mud hut the previous day, but I sat and read this from Isaiah 60
The Gentiles Bless Zion
60 Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
Like the two flowers shining with their colour on a drizzly day, like the colour against the muddy green leaves, like their beauty which cheers all who look upon them. We are called to shine in times of harshness, in times of trouble. In these times and the times that are ahead for us, so that we can be lights that will guide everyone we meet to Jesus, who is God.
Arise and shine in these times of need.
Dear Lord, give me the strength to smile when my body feels like giving in, give me the hope to smile when all seems desperate, help me to shine so that ultimately I shall lead others to you so that you can deliver your salvation to many.
