A tree has been cut down and all that is left is a shell. Old and life grows out of the old but the grand tree that once stood is no more, it is a shadow of its former self.
Do we come up with good ideas and then encounter a nagging voice that says, “we’ll never do that, your a failure”. Perhaps it is just me that encounters this, but I don’t think so. Moses seemed to encounter these doubts. After a face to face encounter with God you would think you would be the most enthused charismatic person alive, but Moses had doubts.
4 Then Moses answered and said, “But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you.’”
2 So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?”
He said, “A rod.”
Is there something you think you are great at, or that you really enjoy, even if you don’t think you are any good at it. If you enjoy doing a skill and you can spend hours doing it and it seems to enthuse you and you can’t sleep until you have finished. That is me with writing music. It is like the sunset being extremely colourful for just a few moments before loosing all colour and going dark. The idea is there and I feel I must write and finish the project until I rest.
God has given us all we need into our very hands. He may take these things away to teach us that we must rely on Him to guide us but we have been given gifts into our very hands.
These gifts can inspire plans for God, for God’s glory and at first they are grand ideas.
Perhaps the enemy doesn’t want you to succeed with Gods plan, so when you get an idea from God the enemy immediately gets to work to dissuade you from pressing ahead. But we must pray to be clothed in God’s armour. We must keep calm in the face of these negative thoughts, in the face of the enemies attacks and have face that Jesus has left the Holy Spirit within us to help. He is there praising and praying to God for us. Just that thought is wonderful in itself that God is within us and He is for us.
Let us be a grand tree until it is time to move on and be assured that our seeds that we have spread, the good works of God have spread far and wide and we can then rest and our memory will naturally dwindle but our works shall go on for the glory of God the Father, through Jesus Christ, inspired by the Holy Spirit.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Lord I pray that I may have strength in the face of adversity and continue with your plans, and not worry about what may or may not come, but to push forward to the end.
Amen
with blessings
