A day of dry weather, spending the day with the family walking around and doing various games and activities at Waddow Hall, in Clitheroe. A truly amazing sight that caught my gaze was a small set of fir cones erupting from the trees. The pink and green that was sprouting was vibrant and the delicate shapes where perfect for their purpose, to eventually turn into a large cone of good protection for the seed whilst it growed ready for deployment in the air.
Pine cones seem truly amazing in their design, as it is perfect for their need. Just reading up on them, they seem to have male and female seeds. everything has the imprint of God, everything exists to compliment each other.
Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Very often God’s work goes on around us and we don’t see it because our focus is too narrow. Allowing our day to have influence from the outside, to ponder, to watch and observe what is really going on. To have a mindfulness or an awareness that God’s Spirit is all around. That is to be aware of God within our day.
Spring is here. Easter has been and we are all renewed with a rest from the holidays, but also we are renewed constantly in the Holy Spirit that leads us to Christ.
I seem to be aware when I am under attack, or influenced by the enemy. And this feeling doesn’t go away until I kneel down and pray. To pray is to do God’s work.
I am like a green cypress tree;
Your fruit is found in Me.”
The fruit and the bud also need nourishment and if the bark is cut off then all will die on that branch. Prayer is the nourishment as it draws power and petitions to God’s attention.
There are some days that I could do nothing else but kneel down and pray, pray for all this new life that is springing up.
Lord I pray for everyone that has found you and is starting a new life of repentance from their sins. I pray that they will learn about the importance of prayer to develop and nourish their life.
I pray that we open our eyes and widen our look so that we are aware of your work and can be great witnesses for you, through Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour.
Amen
