We all have to face trials in life and some hit us like a sledgehammer, but because I know The Lord is my shepherd, I know I am loved and have a constant companion who will be with me through this shadow, even if it leads past death into eternal life with Him. like a caterpillar has to struggle through its cocoon and it’s amazing colours will be revealed and it will fly away free.
I try not to write too personal but keep things biblical based on what I have read and experienced but this morning I am sat up in bed finding it hard to breath with a tightness and pain like I am gripped by a demon of this world. Dwelling and praying to God takes the pain away. God knows all, God sees all, and God will bring all truth into the open. The world wants to slander us and shame us but Jesus stays right here with us, he walks with us through the valley. I was led to this hymn, with all its superb poetry and simplicity of melody written by John Monsell in 1863.
1 Fight the good fight with all your might,
Christ is your strength and Christ your right.
Lay hold on life, and it shall be
your joy and crown eternally.
2 Run the straight race through God’s good grace;
lift up your eyes, and seek his face.
Life with its way before us lies;
Christ is the path and Christ the prize.
3 Cast care aside, lean on your guide;
his boundless mercy will provide.
Lean, and the trusting soul shall prove
Christ is its life and Christ its love.
4 Faint not, nor fear, his arms are near;
he changes not, and you are dear.
Only believe, and you will see
that Christ is Lord eternally.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12
Dear Lord, forgive all who trespass against us and wish us harm and lead us into the true light – my Jesus
Amen
