A robin sits on the tree branch and looks away. Looks towards an uncertain future. There are many threats that this bird may have to face, the least is the fat fluffy cat that occasionally walks awkwardly along the fence to try to make an opportune grab. It is undoubtedly fed much food and does not need this bird to eat but life seems to be cruel. The cat is like a childish, mindless bully in a playground. I remember one time I was beaten up and humiliated by a gang one day. I felt pain for a short period but emotional pain lasted longer, but harbouring hatred towards others serves no purpose and I had to forgive them to move on. I did this when I first came to faith.

Life seems so unfair to so many people that many would question, “where is God in all this?”. The recent horrific invasion and slaughter of innocents on mass in Ukraine from Russia, sending cruise missiles from afar and trying subjugate another country like a school bully has to have God’s keen gaze. Ukraine is suffering at the minute and my heart goes out to them, we must support in everyday we can. The people of Russia are being fed lies from their so called leader, many are oblivious. We must pray and act. We must be the hands and feet of Jesus, and we see people across the world coming together and the Ukraine people in prayer and paying a high cost for their loyalty.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

This message was originally for the tribe of Israel and descendants of Abraham, but now through Jesus, any believer has this amazing promise from God. He will uphold you with His right hand. Keep the faith and do not be afraid of anything that life throws at you because this life is temporary and the next is eternal. We have this promise attached to believers because Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be an indwelling within each one of us and He will not go back on a promise.

Dear Lord, help the people of Ukraine overcome this great evil that they face. Change the hearts of the rulers that send people to needless war and convict them with your truth. Help people who are being fed lies to see the truth and rise up against those who would try to rule with force rather than truth. Lord you are merciful and you are the source of all truth, we praise you daily.
