Keeping in the light and on the pavement due to my knee giving way and continuing to deteriorate, but when I jog on a smooth service it feels okay.
I was dwelling on the words I spoke in the reflection earlier which you can watch at the bottom of the page. Jesus ministers who he is at His most vulnerable.
Luke 23:39-43
Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”
But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me inParadise.”
The verse from the previous day also came to mind;
Luke 23:31
For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?”
Jesus is our example, and so we are supposed to minister to people even when we are not feeling it, or not on the top of our game. We are called to be servants and when I said in the video we are rewarded by ministering to others even out of season, or when we feel like dry wood, I don’t mean God blesses us with money, but our reward will be in heaven. Jesus constantly States this. see James 1:12, Matthew 16:27 and Luke 12:33-34
Now I know, it is very easy for me to write words sitting in a seat at the side of my computer, but people are really ministering in countries were they are laying down their lives. I live in such a comfort compared to them. what right have I got to even talk about ministering out of season. Perhaps if I get to heaven I’ll end up living in a mud hut.
I do however, believe we fight different parts of the same spiritual war. One example is how secularism has taken over our country. It is entirely looked upon kindly to offer mindlessness courses or sessions through schools and organisations in this time, but if you try to send a message around that you would like to pray for people and get people together for prayer, then it is seen as interfering and evangelism. Have we forgot that our rock is communion with God through prayer, not yoga, or mindfulness meditation, not any other activity that is outside of our faith. Prayer is our strength, meditate on the Word, teach others to do the same and they will not be thrown around like on an ocean wave in a storm. Prayer in pairs is particularly a strength – how do we move forward in this time? The answer can only come from God.
The picture shows white mold on wood. If wood is kept in dark, damp conditions it may get like this. We are meant to be constantly in the Word, constantly in the light so we don’t get attacks, or feel mentally insecure – Our God is our Rock – Jesus Christ is our only foundation.
Dear Lord, help us to hear your voice and to have courage to walk forward into those flames, knowing you are with us and when you are, there is no evil that can befall us. In Jesus name – Amen.
