A tree stands looking out across the lake and the bitter winds seem to blow through its arms, the bark weathered to a point you wonder how the tree could survive, but it does, his face looking upwards towards Hartsop Dodd. Its very purpose is to stand here and point the way across the lake, standing listening to the wind, to the Ruach itself, as if at any moment a message would come and the tree will burst forth into all its glory reflecting back the years of sunshine outward towards the world.
The morning we walked along Brother’s Water in the lakes the sun seemed a far place off, just a glimmer every now and then and the cold wind biting through our cloths as we took in the air.
At times life seems to be like this. There is so much wrong with the world, everywhere I look I can see obvious signs of a fallen world, and yet this is supposed to to be the Saviour’s Kingdom, we are here to reclaim it. There are times when I wonder how I am supposed to help this story along, like I am the tree standing at the side of the waters with a biting wind coming past. Will the time ever come were the Lord will return.
The great story started with; (Gen 1:1)
In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth.
Do we forget the story ends with; (Rev 22:20)
He who testifies these things says “Surely I am coming quickly.”
And I have a feeling that when Jesus does come like Gandalf down the mountain as the white rider as the light of the sun itself, the story will not be over, it will be the start of a new chapter. So keep the faith and if you doubt just keep re-reading the last two verses of the entire bible and have hope.
Rev 22:20-21
He who testifies to these things says “surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. even so, come Lord Jesus!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.” Amen.
