There was a time in the world
when good was fought for with pure blood.
There was a time in the world
when truth was clear and freely given in love
There was a time in the world
that our peers gave their lives so that we could live
There was a time in the world
that we thanked them by the blessings we could give.

There is a generation that has forgotten
what it means to be good
There is a generation that feels
it is the one that is eternally mis-understaood
There is a generation that will laugh and scoff
and throw eggs at its peers
There is a generation that will
grow up and be engrossed in the self and its fears.

There will be a day when goodness
will be revealed in the blink of an eye
There will be a day were truth
will be understood and all sadness reasoned why
There will be a day when all hearts
will be tested by the sword
There will be a day when all tears
will be wiped away by our Lord.
