Day 363 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Looking out over the subtle sunset over Helsby and Frodsham, myself and Matthew were waiting for the final colours. We were then faced with clouds of birds flocking overhead. Are these birds migrating? If so they are leaving it very late, but considering the warm winter so far it is not surprising.

It seems very clear that all of nature itself can feel or see or know when it is right to change from one stage to another. Animals go into hibernation, trees shed their leaves to prepare for cold and many other millions of changes that occur through the earth. The birds that were possibly migrating, perhaps swallows, made the decision to move to warmer climates, but how we seem to be blind of this age, where persecution and suffering is happening, and yet countries spend more money on the rich than on the people who really need it. People seem to have an emptiness inside but they don’t seek a solution, they just find a way to forget the problem for a while in drink, or in entertaining themselves.

God has always been the answer to spiritual emptiness, and Christianity in its core values has the answer, but many will rather forget this emptiness rather than deal with it.

Jesus also talked of rapture when He would come back to heal this world and he said we will be able to clearly see the signs. The signs seem to be clearly there, and my belief is that Christ’s return is imminent in this next generation if not closer.

Matthew 24:32-34

32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Jesus promised that His words would never pass away, even if heaven and earth fall. So this does give me hope that God will be there for those that have accepted the gift from God. Perhaps mankind has grown that dull of the senses that they can not read the signs that seem clearly in front of us, unlike the earth which is reading the signs, is feeling pain and is in birthing pains and we are feeling the twinges as the earth shakes and groans.

Dear Lord, I pray that our hearts may not fail you and that we will continue to spread your word even if it means the ultimate sacrifice. Through the love of your Son, Jesus Christ.

Amen
