Day 343 they shall mount up with wings like eagles

The birds are so free. The moments I get outside I cherish just watching the birds flying around. I was trying to get a picture this morning of the seagulls flying around, but I never managed it as the light was dark and the birds were simply no where near me.

Isaiah 40:31

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
    they shall walk and not faint.

Each day I know what I need to gain strength and stay strong for the Lord, but why is it so hard to put such a simple thing into operation. Why do we cling to the things of this world so much more rather than apply principles of a strong prayer life to my life?

Matthew 7:13-14

The Narrow Way

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because[a] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Jesus didn’t say to follow him was easy, but hard, a struggle and we must constantly strive to be good Christians constantly renewing our strength. But Jesus will always be there but perhaps the journey may be a long one or a short one, who knows – the birds seem to have a free life of this world gliding effortlessly above the waters, and they seem to have such accuracy with how and where they fly that they seem more than able to fly through a narrow gap. How much more have we got to cast off worldly desires and walk towards to narrow door.

Dear Lord, guide our ways this next day and give us all the bread we need to sustain our strength in you.

Amen
