Looking out across Blakemere Moss, this haven for plant life, wildlife, animals and insects was flooded to create this huge lake. It is quite wonderful to walk around on a nice day as you get the chance to see many different species of birds.
But this was originally a wetland area before people decided to try and drain it and plant trees, rather unsuccessfully on the site. It is hardly surprising that the now reclaimed wetland area is now thriving as that what God intended it to be.
The thing is, as my dad was fond of saying, God has a purpose for each of us and how many times do we go against this natural God given purpose to lead other merry adventures.
John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
Trying to do things other than God will for us would be like a pear tree trying to grow oranges. Fighting against God is useless as he will just keep holding on, holding on in love until we give in and allow him to lead the steps in our life.
I am a softy mostly for my children and I will give in to them very nearly always, but how much more will our creator give in to our requests if they are following his paths. So let us go out and realise that we have a purpose and nothing can stand in the way of this purpose if we ask for Gods help.
Dear God, lead me into your arms so that I may clearly see a path that you want me to walk. Lead my thoughts, my words, and my actions to do your works, and may I do them to the best of my ability.
Amen
