Butterfly

Day 331 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing

A butterfly basking as if it is a normal hot day in a created forest within Chester Zoo.

When times are cold and the weather is miserable it is thankful that we have many places we can go and be warm, that we can escape from this rain and wind. Perhaps many people spent the day scrabbling over shops trying to spend their money. I think the most precious times today was when I stopped to talk to people, not to talk about anything in particular, but to just spend time with others and get to know them.

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

People appreciate a pleasant person to talk to and to share moments with. We are called to be those moments of hope in darkness, a moment of hope in the wind. Like this butterfly, it cheers all who see it with its wonderful colours.

A child asked me what are the point of polar bears and such, and my answer was that perhaps they are there to give glory to God because they are so graceful and beautiful. I am sure insects and animals provide much more for this world than we know of, but we learn, and we can enjoy their beauty which is given by God.

Dear Lord, thank you for those moments that I stopped and spent those moments cheering people up today, I offer all I am to you.

Amen
