I was looking across this lake and trying to catch the image of the birds flying across. The other side of the lake looks luscious and green. A faint yellow streak can be seen in the blue amongst all the clouds, which are holding rain, for it started raining shortly afterwards just as we arrived back to the car.
Hosea 2:18-23
18 In that day I will make a covenant for them
With the beasts of the field,
With the birds of the air,
And with the creeping things of the ground.
Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth,
To make them lie down safely.
19 “I will betroth you to Me forever;
Yes, I will betroth you to Me
In righteousness and justice,
In lovingkindness and mercy;
20 I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness,
And you shall know the Lord.
21 “It shall come to pass in that day
That I will answer,” says the Lord;
“I will answer the heavens,
And they shall answer the earth.
22 The earth shall answer
With grain,
With new wine,
And with oil;
They shall answer “God will sow”
23 Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth,
And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy;
Then I will say to those who were not My people,
‘You are My people!’
And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”
What a wonderful section of writing and words from the book of Hosea.
The Holy Spirit’s prayers could be thought of as this ark and work within us must take shape and today I have learned that sometimes I struggle against letting the Spirit take over.
Jesus is the door. Through Him we pray and are able to stand holy before God the Father.
Come within us and keep ourselves from leading,
but let you lead us to do only your will.
Come within us and pray with us and comfort us through
our struggles and our failures.
let us go out each day anew
with the joy that we have a new covenant
with Jesus your Son.
