Day 324 Seek Good and not evil

On such a dreary, rain drenched day I remember this tree that was leaning over into the slow meandering river and seemed to be drinking from the waters. These weeping willows are really beautiful, they glorify the Lord.

Amos 5:14-15

Seek good and not evil,
That you may live;
So the Lord God of hosts will be with you,
As you have spoken.
Hate evil, love good;

On such dark days we have to have light. We have to have hopeful memories and good thoughts, we can’t be lost to the darkness because I have been there and it is not good. Still I get returning nagging thoughts about how much I could fail when I come up with ideas and projects, but if the Lord reasures me to carry on, then I have faith and hope that I am doing God’s will.

Today many circumstances combined to deliver another message and I will work on that to go forward. Listen for Gods voice in your day and He will not fail you.

I have spoken about the druids before, and it is true that they saw something within nature. I don’t think they saw something bad, I think they saw the radiance of God. They saw that there was something in nature that they thought was both awe inspiring and beyond them. Many lies where written about the druids and many tales made up. Pretty much all the information we have on them is from archeology and from remnants of welsh books and a few others.

They were right to a certain extent!

God has revealed Himself in nature, it is a strong revelation that can create awe and turn peoples thoughts to love and beauty, but despite spending many hours sat under trees meditating and spending many hours in woods alone, and on mountains alone exploring and trying to find something. Nature didn’t reveal its secret to me on its own.

Amos 4:13

13 For behold,
He who forms mountains,
And creates the wind,
Who declares to man what his thought is,
And makes the morning darkness,
Who treads the high places of the earth—
The Lord God of hosts is His name.

A memory;

On a lonely drive up a lonely mountain covered in snow I stopped the car and got out.  A small stream trickled by the side of the road and this led down into the valley below which seemed to be waking up as the sun came up from below the horizon. I looked out across the valleys and the rising mountains and the lights of the town and it filled me with awe. I then read Amos 4:13 and felt awe struck that at one time God would have trod this earth. The name Jesus kept echoing in my mind as I had met with a personal encounter with Him earlier in the morning when I woke. What ever happened from then on, it didn’t matter as I knew my life was now in His hands and I was in for a great adventure. The Lord God had come down amounts mere men and made his dwelling place.

When I feel bad on dreary days I think back to this day. Light in the darkness is such a powerful message.

Dear Lord, let your light shine within us all, especially in these end days when your created earth seems wracked with evil. Destroy the evil and send your children as beacons of love and light to heal and banish the evil and darkness from the far places.

In Jesus name, The Lord God of hosts.

Amen
