I know not what this plant is that grows in the dark. There is much life within the shielded dark portion of the garden and its mud hut, and it is like a tiny island of life from the outer clatterings of wind, rain, damp and cold that try to force us to feel like this is a dark dismal day, like we do not have the right walk around and smile and marvel at Gods gracious gifts. Daily life grows and stands firm. Nature continues and thrives where left to its own devices, even in the dark; why?
Because Gods grace extends to everything He has made, His design, His Spirit folded them, His hands have touched every code of every living thing and every thing that is. Life procreates life, goodness grows from goodness, light destroys darkness utterly, and even the tiniest rays of light can have a startling effect within an area that is devoid of any light. Grass grows, ivy grows, plants grow that should be shutting up for winter, and yes there is a harsh winter ahead for us all, but amid this I hear our Lord and Saviour calling;
“Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered, each to his own home, and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.
“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
Evil is in plain sight, and against this we stand firm, having peace and the knowledge that Jesus Christ has already won the war, and He is here with us to finish the skirmishes.
How do we finish this battle?
We continue to pray for all that need prayers, to continue to love and try ever to be selfless and to listen to the will of God, through the Holy Spirit. Christianity is truth and its faith is based on love, and there is nothing that can take away our love for God and His sacrifice He gave for us.
Darkness is an absence of light, evil is an absence of good. The Father sacrificing the Son because He wanted us to have a way out of this damaged world. In effect He replanted life itself into the earth and His son rose to an awesome rebirth.
Jesus, you overcame and sent the Holy Spirit to help us. I pray that you continue to look upon everyone who calls upon your name, I pray that you will shine light to the darkest parts of this earth to spark rays of hope. Forgive my foolish ways, forgive my weakness, forgive us Lord.
Amen
