The day has gone, and the chores have won,
The pictures have been and the chances have gone.
But look to the future, the Summer will return,
Just as surely as the fate of men that never learn.
For God realised this much many years ago,
and planned for this event, though to us it seems slow,
Gods way will endure, through the memory of the wine
His Son sacrificed, once for many, once for all time.
The day had a late start as I slept in exhausted from the week. Then I spent the rest of the day just doing jobs and shopping. So getting a picture today got the better of me and I decided to post a picture reminding us, in this Autumn that will turn into a harsh Winter by all accounts, of a beautiful stream and tree that was in the grounds of a wonderful stately home I visited in Wales a few years ago. I remember taking the picture and being joyous. Cholmondeley Castle and grounds has some of the finest gardens I have ever seen and the memory of the trip there with the family raised a smile thinking of the sun and the relaxing time.
Luke 12:32
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
What can we be unhappy with, for God sent His only Son and sacrificed him for all of our sins so that we could have such a bright future. We are his little flock. If heaven has a garden I imagine that Cholmondeley Castle will come as close as we can do on this earth, even though everything is a pale shadow, and what is better is that heaven is freely given. We can not earn God’s favour with works, it is a done deal, we only have to confess with our heart and lips that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour.
So have hope, go out and praise God with joy.
Tell people about His amazing awesome Son.
Joyfully encourage everyone who does good.
See good in everyone and remind them that they are special.
Above all do everything with love.
Dear Lord, thank you, you are awesome.
Amen
