The picture shows the last of the dandelion flowers as we go into Autumn and prepare for Winter. The flowers are now gone and just their stems remain as the chill in the air has helped them to change.
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance
As the dandelions go dormant for the spring I pause and reflect on the past week.
I have been born every morning and died with my mistakes,
I have planted seeds of hope and dug out fruits to share,
I have allowed anger in and showed love to heal what I lost,
I have knocked down walls to restart in a better position,
I have cried and laughed over my own weaknesses,
I have mourned friendships gone and danced at the site of new ones begun.
Dear Lord, in this time of rest, let it be for a time of renewal in your Holy Spirit. Let the rest stir within me the Spirit’s guidance to urge me on to complete your will – just as you will it.
Amen
