sky behind lamp

Day 267 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

I snapped this image trying to capture the rays of light that were spreading out from behind the cloud, and when I looked at the image I noticed that the street light was in front. What a pale reflection of Gods light our crude street light. It seems that what ever God puts his hands to He accomplishes. But he seems to use the most obscure people you could imagine.

Why does God do this instead of picking great people to lead he picks insignificant people? Peter a fisherman, Matthew a tax collector, Jesus himself was born the son of a carpenter. D L Moody was an unlikely character to become a great preacher, and many many more people have felt God’s call and questioned that they have the talents and abilities. They are not alone as many of God’s prophets did the same. Moses almost argued to the point of refusal that he would be of use when he was talking to God in the bush.

But God’s grace and glory is clearly seen when the persons own charisma is not in the way. When God works his power on this earth it is clearly seen and no amount of denial can take away from this glory.

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Even though the lamp outside lights the path I can still grow weary and trip, but the light of God keeps me on the right track and following the light of Jesus.

Dear Lord, I thank you for your love and grace, be with me always and help me to continually be vigilant to see your glory and praise you.

Amen
