From behind the thick rain clouds, a brief respite from the night’s lashings, the sun rises and a faint glow lights up the clouds across the morning sky. Another day and we force ourselves to get into the race, the eagerness to move forward.
It had been raining pretty much all the night, and I had concerns that the mud hut I was building would have been damaged, but it seems solid and well.
From the sea the water evaporates up unto the sky, it hits dust particles and forms clouds. The mind of God and how He came up with that one for a system that would water everything, and naturally purify it just boggles. He is an awesome God, even in rain storms and thick clouds. If God constantly changes the water and purifies it before raining it down upon the earth, how much more does He want to purify us through the blood of His only Son, who has already paid and suffered for all the sins we have committed and will commit both you and me.
Out of the ashes we rise.
Never forget that God created us out of the ashes, out of the very stuff, the very matter of earth. I can create cob walls, but God is not from this world, he created it. Scientists agree that we come from dust but they believe that life just sparked into life. Life from non-life.
God could have used sparks to start our meagre hearts but it says that he created us in a more personal way. With his hands and his breath he breathed us awake. He could have used all three, as this reminds me of the news report yesterday as a man was saved when the teachers gave him cpr, moving his heart with their hands up and down, breathing air into his lungs and then a de-fibulator to restart normal beating of his heart.
Imagine starting with just lifeless mud, not the mud that we dig up to make crude walls, because that is brimming with life, worms and insects and tiny bacteria, but lifeless dust. Dust requires water to help it stay together. Then throw all that non living dust and water elements together and hit it with a lightning bolt. I am afraid that a de-fibulator is only shocking the heart into a steady rhythm, not starting a dead person heart, but that is what scientists claim but with a lump of soup and a random electric shock, and all of this from a random explosion from nothingness!
to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
Only a Supernatural power reaching into this created world can do anything supernatural. God is God, creator and saviour and we should be eternally grateful and hopeful that he loves us and takes an active interest in us.
The planting of each of us in this place on earth is for a reason, and we must seek that reason to glorify our creator. We have been planted, and pruned ready to do his will. Let us all now bear fruit that God created for us to bear.
We have been on a sleeper train and have just woken up and found out we are going somewhere wonderful, and the ticket has been paid for in full. How will we react when we arrive at our destination, how will we thank the person who paid the fee – Jesus Christ as he was nailed through choice on the cross for all of us.
Dear Lord, let me not loose the sense of urgency and humbleness I feel that you would reach into this world and spend time with us all. Help us all to do your will, bring your kingdom, not forget all the work that needs to be done following the direction of the Holy Spirit, through Jesus, from the Father.
Amen
