The Day started with streaks of light with the sunrise. Curtains closed on many houses around, and many people already driving to their place of work. Then I got into the car and drove along the motorway to work. As the journey started the morning fog hung in the fields and created an erie glow. As the drive continued it was becoming blinding, the light was directly ahead. At times I had to slow down dramatically because it was becoming too bright to perceive anything else, but still people rushed past.
who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person,
and upholding all things by the word of His power,
when He had by Himself purged our sins,
sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Jesus was and is the exact image of God. Many people think of Him as a messenger, but He is much more than that.
Jesus is God.
The Muslim faith be-littles Jesus by just calling him a prophet or a messenger. Jesus is God and it would be wrong to call Him anything else. When we cast off this life’s skin we will meet with Jesus and we will have to account for ourselves. But Jesus, who everything was created through Him, purged our sin through His death and glorious resurrection. we must stand firm on this pillar that Jesus is God, yes he is part of the trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit – but it is clear He is God and there was nothing that was created that was not created through Him.
The Suns power, radiance and glory are a pale shadow compared to God’s glory. Even so this morning I could barely look into this sun which is a shadow. How much more glorious, awesome and fearful must the creators glory be, and we must respect Him to know He is our Lord.
Dear Lord, help us all to look upon your glorious image, Jesus Christ, and be in respect for your sacrifice that you made for us, your mere creations. We are dust under your feet, yet you send out your love on a daily basis, so let us return that love by honouring you with the respect for your true glory, Jesus Christ.
