Fire in the sky

Day 231 and the glory of the Lord appeared to the whole assembly

The Lord sometimes shows his love with displays of wonder. Wonder in our lives and wonders in the sky. The sunsets are wonderful but for a very short time. God sometimes works his wonders out over long periods but sometimes the results can be instantaneous.

Leviticus 9:24

22 Then, with hands spread out toward the people, Aaron blessed them and came down from the altar. 23 Moses and Aaron went into the Tabernacle, and when they came out again they blessed the people; and the glory of the Lord appeared to the whole assembly. 24 Then fire came from the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and fat on the altar; and when the people saw it, they all shouted and fell flat upon the ground before the Lord.

Oh to be around at the time the Lord was performing huge miracles and His presence was appearing to the select. But today the Lord can appear to all, not just the select. How wonderful is that?

Then fire came out…Fire came out and consumed the offering and the fat. Perhaps the fat is the excessive parts of our lives. God today still makes his presence known and consumes our excessive parts of our lives. He consumes our sin, through Jesus’ eternal sacrifice and for that I will be eternally grateful.

They all shouted and fell flat upon the ground before the Lord. But even today we must react to the Lord in the same way, to shout with joy and fall on the ground and worship the Lord. Gratitude for his salvation. We can not let any sin in our lives fester or remain as the fact is we do not know when we will go and meet our maker. But we should not worry about that sin, but be joyful that God will incinerate it through His special ways.

The past few days I have felt temptations within my life and I have certainly wasted too much time just reading social media – why? Perhaps the tempter puts any distractions in our way rather than we should kneel down and “actually pray”, as my daughter may say. Spending time with my children has been a joy and I am sure God has blessed me with a wonderful wife, children and friends just so they all can be the tonic I need to stop me turning into a recluse who spends far too much time focussed on tasks, and projects. They are my angels and I love them all.

Who are the angels in your life? Are they your pets, your children, or friends and relatives, or just total strangers that you meet at random times.

Dear Lord thank you for all your blessings, may my cry of joy reach you and may my offerings be acceptable. Thank you for your continued love.

Amen
