A beautiful big daisy

Day 197 Wisdom of God over man

The picture shows a beautiful big daisy! My phone tells me this is a “Leucanthemum vulgare”, a member of the aster family. I look at this flower and see the beauty, and someone else quotes all the scientific data on the species.

Someone reads a post about how beautiful our world is and they respond by trying to provoke me to react by saying “Mother nature has been around for billions of year, so throw away your bible”. What has billions of years got to do with humans thinking the world is beautiful, in experiencing a love for life and for nature? A world of nature created by God, and pretty much destroyed by man.

1 Corinthians 2:5

that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

The bible is not a technical manual about how the earth was created so much as why it was created. But until someone opens their heart and allows God within to make change then they are just either denying God, and denying there is sin in the world and anything is acceptable, or worse, they pay God lip service but don’t really allow Him to make a change in their life. Like going to the doctor and telling him your problems, but then walking out without listening to what he has to say about the problem. You need to allow God into your life. I pray that He will show you how to change.

Another person says why do you Christians hate LBGT’s? The answer is simple. Hate has no part of God. If we hate we are following the promptings of; at the very least our own fallenness and at the worst the devil himself.

If there is hate in the world this is part of our fallenness, our sin. If any Christian hates anyone it is a sin. I can not say I hate anyone. I hate sin, my own sin more than anything but I do not hate anyone.

But take heart, for Jesus came to pay for that sin. He died for us so that we could change. We should stop hating, so if anyone hates anyone then they are clearly not listening to the teachings of Jesus or following the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

1 John 4:20 ESV

If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

Dear Lord, help us all to stop hate in its tracks by opening our hearts to the love of your Son Jesus, who came to pay for our sin so that we could be children of God.

Amen
