Striving for a Crown

24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

I have had an energetic and perfect day. Performing with the band and creating a performance for people to enjoy. But these joys go. They disappear soon. Tomorrow there is more work to do. I actually cherish developing the band over the many years rather than just the concerts, but they are an enjoyable crown for everyone to enjoy.

How much more is the crown that we should strive to receive from Christ, an imperishable crown. But when we are blessed with good days let us first think of thanking the Lord for his blessings.

Dear Lord, in these days of joy, when we are enjoying company let us praise your name for every blessing we receive.
