Clouds, bird and trees.

Day 173 let us lay aside every weight

The picture was taken at Stanley Park, Blackpool. Before us stands a wall toppled and a tree behind with a bird flying off into the cloudy blue sky.

Clouds, bird and trees.
Clouds, bird and trees.
Jesus’ death on the cross shook the earth and split the curtain of the temple in Jerusalem; meaning we could all now meet God personally in our inner temples when the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the death and came to the disciples at Pentecost, and continues with us his adopted children.

  • The toppled wall is a reminder of when the earth shook and split the curtain of the temple split.
  • The tree is a reminder of the powerful sacrifice Jesus gave to destroy our sin once and for all on the cross.
  • The bird is a powerful reminder that the Holy Spirit can set us free, but we need to follow Him because he hears all from Jesus, who reigns with the Father.

Hebrews 12:1

The Race of Faith

12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Dear Lord, since we have been set right before you through your Son’s glorious sacrifice, what can we possibly worry about in this life. Let us be like a calm gentle breeze withIn the turmoil of a storm following your every command by your Spirit’s beckoning.

Amen
