The sky was a flood with colours this morning as I looked up to the sky and I saw three birds. It is a late spring morning but it felt more like summer with the warmth of the sun heating all the land. 

The day’s walking was wonderful, gentle slopes up and down taking in the wonderful views. 

Genesis 22

Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”—23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man;

Then the camping site was reached after a long climb just in time for the floodgates to open. 

Humankind made that decision long ago to turn their own back on God and everything that has happen since then is a direct result of that moment. 

Jacob when he had his vision of the stairway to heaven had a glimps of the future to come. 

But God sent his solution – Jesus Christ is that stairway, that arbiter between us and God. But what the fascinating thing I find about my faith is that every single person has that gift. Everyone can contact God through Jesus. No longer are we required as the Old Testament decreed, do we need to take our concerns to the high priest because Jesus Christ is that high priest. 

Dear lord thank you for today, keep me steady in my faith.
