rise up men of god

Day 108 Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead.

I was up early today to go to a conference called diamond geezers, and it was focussed on men and their place in God’s plan. We listened to many wonderful testimonies and sang rousing songs. This year Andy Hawthorne, Anthony Delaney and Carl Beech shared 3 ways God wants to bless your life – Work, Rest and Play.

Ephesians 5:14

14 Therefore He says:

“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.

I feel inspired and also I felt God affirm my path I have taken so far and that there is still much more to do, but we must pace ourselves. Working at a pace was good advice.

We were told of Dashrath Manjhi who chiseled a road through a mountain one rock at a time, and whilst he was doing it everyone thought he was mad. We must pace ourself and move one obstacle at a time so we can journey towards God.

We were told that it was important as men to pace ourselves and have a balance in life. God loves it when we spend time with the family and when we are happy, but He also loves it more when we do His good works.

I felt God’s Holy Spirit speak to me affirming my place so far and I vowed to do God’s work. The charity compassion was featured and the difference of sponsoring a child and more importantly communicating with them as a father was seen as life saving to the speaker who told of his experience growing up.

When we are blessed with security we must do our bit to help the poor and less well off. That is true religion, not traditions and things that have no meaning. I have felt God wanting me to help another child for a while so this seemed to be the time God was asking me to help.

Tonight I pray for all the men who are struggling to find God, to find Jesus. Lord open up your eyes on our lands and help the men rise up and lead, help the children see the heroes we have amongst our midst, help the people of Christ lead the world on a revolution to God.

Amen

with blessings

Graham
