On the guild wheel taking pictures of the flowers and wildlife this evening as the sun submerged below the trees. The country and wild places seem to perfectly magnify the Lord. It is the most refreshing place to be if you ever have a head ache. Not much colour happened in the sunset, but there was an array of colour from the daffodils that lined the path. This reminded me of the people that cheered Jesus as He entered Jerusalem, and their rejection of Him later when they condemned Him to the death on the cross.
Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth;
for the Lord has spoken:
“Children have I reared and brought up,
but they have rebelled against me.
The Lord’s way is easy to see, but so often we walk other paths. Walking with the Lord requires effort, but as Jesus says
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
So if the Lord’s yoke is easy and His burden is light, why do we so often go wrong?
I think we often forget that in order to turn to God, we have to repent. We have to make a change of mind and also a change of heart so that we not only are sorry for the way of life we have been living but we also have to make a change of life. To put all control of our life in His hands.
If we do this then we will travel along the clear path and the angels in heaven will rejoice like the daffodils are lining the road and cheering. But unlike the people of Jerusalem lining the roads of Jerusalem Jesus will never leave us and He will gradually keep bringing us back to His path, to His way and to His love on the way to the Father.
Dear Lord lead me in your way and let me not be tempted beyond my strength. Help my response to you Lord be true and be in a true spirit of repentance.
Amen
