Hosanna – Puddles of water abounded everywhere, especially in the garden where we have a thick clay layer, which makes it hard for the water to drain away. Rain and water is good, it washes away the dirt, the pain. Rain and water works its way through any defence eventually, like the love of God can heal all, if Jesus is accepted as Lord.
Hosanna – In the picture the trees bow down to the traveller who walks ahead. Perhaps it reminds you of Palm Sunday, perhaps you can hear the people shouting;
“Hosanna!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
Blessed is the kingdom of our father David
That comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest!”
Hosanna – Perhaps nature has captured some echoes and memories of the past. The Earth and nature bow down also to Jesus as Lord, as God. An un-ridden mule – a foolhardy ride for some, but Jesus had power of nature as well as all creation.
Hosanna – the people, trees and history is shouting in unison Hosanna, which is God give us salvation. You can hear their pleas.
Lord, save us!
Lord, grant us success!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
From the house of the Lord we bless you.
The Lord is God,
and he has made his light shine on us.
With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession
up to the horns of the altar.
You are my God, and I will praise you;
you are my God, and I will exalt you.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
Hosanna – You can feel the pain in the trees and in nature, like the earth is still in the throws of creation, of giving birth.
For nation will arise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places. There will be famines.
These things are a beginning of birth-pains.
Hosanna – With all the exuberance and joy of Palm Sunday, little did the people understand the payment that was to given for all. Guilty as a man claiming to be what he was – God. But guiltless in sin, so that He took on our sin.
Hosanna – Dear Jesus, help us to grow and change as no one can become sinless without you.
Dear Jesus, hear ours cry of Hosanna, hear the pain that we cry as the years draw on.
Dear Jesus, let us bow down to you to serve humbly as your servants and cast away any false distractions so that we can become Christ-like in this life.
Amen
with blessings
