A dark rainy day, but there was odd pockets of dryness where I could get a few pictures.
Song of Solomon 2:1
1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons.
Do we ever feel like we are walking a lonely road? I walk around and see lost people, I see people who have got things dramatically wrong. They live like the world was there for their own pleasure, and yet there are days where I do just that – I live for just my own pleasure. There are days that I am selfish, arrogant and full of myself. Sometimes I want God to change me straight away, to just vaporise all the badness within me. But I stop and think that God, at least for me, doesn’t seem to work like this. God works his purposes out slowly. Just like it has taken some months for the lily of the valley to come through, we are shaped by God in His time.
We are all special in God’s eyes. We are all like lilies of the valley, blooming in our own time. When we hear tv shows talking about how certain singers are special or have got that star quality, do not believe them. Everyone has that star quality, everyone has sinned in their life, but we all have the hope of that light that will lead us.
2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
Jesus is our God. Some people are uneasy about that fact, but that one statement stands Christianity out against all other religions. Jesus came to save us through his death and resurrection. He did it so be joyful and accept Him as your Lord and saviour.
Amen
with blessings
