The morning air is always clean and crisp, it’s fresh. The birds are always out flying looking like they enjoy the new morning. Even at the end of the day the birds seem to enjoy flying around as the sun dips down for the last time in this day.
Humans seem different. We seem grumpy on some days and over excited on others. Some just seem plain grumpy every day, even though they have food, water, the latest gadgets.
Our lives are remarkably blessed with love from every direction, and as such we should try to pass on that blessing to those who are finding it hard. But sometimes I feel that some peoples sadness is not from a lack of things in their life, but by an over supply of these things.
Matthew 4:4
But he answered, “It is written,
“‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Perhaps we can have bread and refreshment and everything we could possibly need and still be lacking.
When Adam was in the garden he had everything he could possibly imagine to sustain his life, but one thing. Love from another person like himself. Someone to share the journey with. Share the highs and the lows. When Eve was tricked into taking the fruit from the tree of Good and evil, Adam willingly accepted sin to stand alongside his bride. Despite the pain it must have caused him knowing that he was separating himself from God.
Everyone on earth has been designed with certain attributes and skills. But there is companionship worked into this plan. Eve was planned all along for Adam, and the fruit of their relationship was children.
Being a parent is full of sacrifice but at no stage do I think, “hey! imagine where I would be without children?” Because I know without the gift of children then I would still be living a sinful selfish life, apart from God. My children brought me to question and wrestle with God. God won, and now I am his servant.
A single life works for some, and not others. Without companionship; my family, wife, children and all the extended family – my life would be one long self indulgence.
In the picture the bird is flying high and I imagine it is looking for companionship. Perhaps it is looking to start a family. To accept the gifts given to us and to care for and to cherish. Watch this video as it tells of an immense journey each of us as taken already before coming this point in life. Life is a miracle of God, feel blessed and put down your distractions and go and share the love of God.
John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
Jesus when He hung there on the cross knew He was sacrificing Himself for all of His children, the children of Adam, the adopted children of God. Accept His gift given freely in pain, in hunger and in thirst, for you, and take up your cross and follow Him.
Amen
With blessings
